HMB Capture, which offers expertise in production scanning, data capture, document management and line-of-business integration, now includes 3D printing offerings. By adding two new 3D printers, the Cube® and the MakerBot, to our product line we are able to better serve the evolving needs of our clients.

Businesses in industries such as plastics manufacturing and marketing have shown an increased interest in testing and/or purchasing of a printer with capabilities to create 3D prototypes. In the past, the technology has been very expensive and hard to access, forcing organizations with limited resources available to order these 3D prototypes online, paying high prices and waiting for it to ship from overseas. After realizing these challenges and seeing a rising demand, we saw an opportunity to offer our clients more affordable, high quality 3D printing products with the MakerBot Replicator 2 and Cube®.

These printers are portable and generate high quality extra-large, realistic industrial prototypes, models, and products. Additionally, the printer can produce multiple things at once and makes smooth-to-the-touch surfaces, further decreasing time spent on printing, sanding and finishing.

In addition to plastics manufacturing and marketing industries, 3D printing technology is also interesting to schools. They can design and see their creations, which is an important part of the U.S. government’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Education initiative. HMB, which is also committed to generating youth interest in the math and sciences, is excited to share this technology with schools in central Ohio.

What are your thoughts on the future of 3D printing and business applications?
